TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Corrections for travel assignments in correctional facilities. The LPN will provide direct patient care to incarcerated individuals, assisting with medical treatments, medication administration, and health screenings . This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to work in a secure environment, and excellent communication skills .
Responsibilities
- Deliver routine and emergency medical care to inmates.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
- Conduct health screenings and assess patient conditions.
- Provide wound care, IV therapy, and chronic disease management .
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with correctional healthcare policies.
- Assist with mental health and substance abuse treatments .
- Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with security staff and medical teams to provide safe patient care.
- Travel to various correctional facilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an accredited LPN program .
- License: Active LPN license in the state of assignment or compact license.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in correctional, emergency, or acute care nursing preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and de-escalation techniques .
- Certifications: BLS certification required. ACLS preferred.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness to take on travel assignments .
